Tips for Success: Setting up your writing space

Hi everyone, Josh from the Zen Zone here. Just thought I’d mention to everyone that a great way to improve your writing is to set up a calm and quiet writing space for yourself. So let’s talk about it!

Why is it important to have a dedicated space for your writing? Well not having one can be a huge barrier to getting any meaningful amount of writing done. Whether it’s kids running around, the noisy neighbors outside your window, or just the ordinary hustle and bustle of life, it can be tricky to find a proper place to write.

First, find a quiet place in your house that is infrequently visited by whoever you live with. Let everyone know that you don’t want to be disturbed while you’re in there. Try to foment a distraction free environment and try to have a soothing color palette to aid in your creative processes. I prefer gentle sky blues in my workspace, but choose whatever inspires you.

All you really need to get started is a chair, a desk, and maybe a nice desk lamp. But here are some very nice items you may find a use for to really turn your writing space into something special.

In need of some inspiration? Check out the olfactory delights offered by this amazing aromatherapy diffuser. Nothing will make your space feel more comfortable and personal than your favorite scents.
