Brighter Days Ahead!
Painting by Miami artist Taylor Cavazos installed at CLEO Institute Office
MIAMI, FL (8/8/2019)- It was a rainy day in South Florida, but inside the Center For Social Change coworking space, things were looking bright! Miami artist Taylor Cavazos, of Taylor Cavazos Art, dropped by the office to brighten up the walls and the spirits of the hardworking team of the CLEO Institute while her painting Seascape was installed.
The CLEO Institute is a non-profit organization that drives climate action through education and engagement. Their mission is to educate and promote an informed and engaged public that supports climate action locally, regionally, nationally, and globally.
Their purpose is to empower communities across all levels of society with climate science education and demand climate policies from elected leaders. "I am so proud to partner with the CLEO institute to display one of my sea life paintings in their Coral Gables office. The ocean has always been such a source of inspiration for me and my
paintings, so I hope my artwork will remind people to respect and admire the ocean as I have. As someone who spends nearly every weekend at the beach or in the water, I think the CLEO institute is doing such important work to increase the conversation around climate change and I'm so happy to play a small part."
Recent headlines around the climate crisis have included the announcement of Julia Nesheiwat by Gov. Ron DeSantis as Florida’s first Chief Resilience Officer, and activists gathering outside the 2020 Debate in Miami.
The CLEO Institute is calling for citizens to come out for the Youth Strike for Climate on September 20th. Leading up to the strike they have a variety of events for the community to learn about hurricane preparedness and the climate crisis.
